Dr. Daniel Jerez is Academic Director and Head of the Maxillofacial Unit at Clínica Bupa Santiago, Chile, and is associated with Hospital Dr. Luis Calvo Mackenna. He holds DDS and MSc degrees and completed a fellowship in TMJ surgery. Dr. Jerez's clinical practice encompasses orthognathic surgery, TMJ surgery and arthroscopy, and obstructive sleep apnoea surgery. He led the first team in Chile to use pre-surgical navigation in orthognathic surgery, which they have employed since 2009. In June 2024, Dr. Jerez was admitted as the first Chilean member of the American Society of TMJ Surgeons, a milestone that reflects his growing international standing in the TMJ surgery community. As the sole South American representative in the IATMJ founding cohort, Dr. Jerez plays a critical role in extending the Association's network to Latin America and developing the regional TMJ care infrastructure.
