Standardizing Arthroscopic TMJ Disc Repositioning and Suturing: First Continuing Education and Manikin Simulation Course Convenes in Shanghai
Updated: 11 hours ago
Advancing its mission to set international standards in TMJ care, the International Association of Temporomandibular Joint (IATMJ) co-organizes a three-day programme (11–13 September 2026) with China’s leading stomatology institutions, combining lectures with hands-on manikin simulation training to unify surgical technique
Shanghai, China — 7 September 2026.
Organized by Shanghai Ninth People’s Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, the First Continuing Education Course on Arthroscopic TMJ Disc Repositioning and Suturing will be held from 11 to 13 September 2026 at the International Training Center for Temporomandibular Joint Surgery. Combining formal lectures with hands-on manikin simulation training, the course aims to standardize the surgical workflow and key operative points of arthroscopic TMJ disc repositioning and suturing, unify technical standards, and improve the consistency of TMJ care nationwide.
Temporomandibular joint disorders — anterior disc displacement in particular — account for a large clinical caseload, yet diagnostic and treatment approaches and surgical techniques still vary between centers, making standardized technical training an urgent clinical need. Unifying the technical standards for arthroscopic disc repositioning and suturing is the course’s central objective.
